The Bookeen Cybook Opus is one of the smaller ebook readers on the market, and yet still offers a 5″ eInk screen and the core features you would want in a eBook Reader. Some bells and whistles of other eReaders are missing but the smaller size and wide range of colours will make the Bookeen Cybook Opus the perfect choice.
Weighing in at 150 grams and measuring 151 mm x 108 mm x 10 mm, the Bookeen Cyboook Opus has a 5″ eInk Vizplex screen although unlike the Kindle and Sony Reader eBook readers, the Opus only has 4 levels of gray. Page navigation is via the two buttons down the right hand side of the case and there are additional control buttons along the bottom edge including a 5 way navigation button, menu and back buttons.
Turn the Opus through 90 degrees and the g-sensor makes the text on the screen rotate to landscap mode. The buttons automatically switch to match the orientation of the screen, making the Bookeen Cyboook Opus equally suitable for left or right handed users.
The 1GB memory will store about 1,000 eBooks and the battery will last for 8,000 page turns or 2 weeks and there is a Micro SD card. With an open format you can read documents and pictures in ePUB, PDF, HTML, FB2, TXT, JPG, GIF, PNG format. Unlike other eReaders the Bookeen Cybook Opus comes in a number of different colours including blue, pink and orange as well as black and white.
